Day 1 - Arrival

Bryan Soderholm and Mrs. Shields at
the airport in Gothenburg
14 hours after leaving the Soderholm household, we are here at the Slottsskogens hostel in Goteborg, Sweden . Highlights include:

-screaming babies and restless toddlers on 8 hour flights
-hot towels on the plane
-COZY rooms at the hostel
-delicious Italian food
-legally buying our own beer
Alex Braatz in our hostel room
Arriving here after a long day of traveling was pure hygge (Danish word describing a warm, safe, and happy feeling, pronounced "hoo-ga"). We stepped out of the airport into a snowy winter wonderland, and crammed into three shuttles to take us on winding, narrow streets through Goteborg to our hostel.

Imagine the North Pole in The Polar Express with nightclubs and style; that's Goteborg.  It looks like a maze of culture and carousing thats just waiting for us to explore. After eating at an outstanding Italian restaurant, Professor Shields gave us an assignment: to ask one Swede what they are most proud of Sweden for.   We're all feeling jet lag, but we're all pushing through and not wasting a single night.
